Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) received $19,831.00 in grant funding from Las Patronas to go towards STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts and Math) equipment for their new Center for Innovation.

The supplies purchased will furnish the Center for Innovation which includes: a Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen, Performing Arts Center and a STREAM Lab. The STREAM Lab will be an interactive facility in which youth can experiment, try, fail and learn important problem solving skills.  Equipment will include an Eyewash Station, Hydroponic Growing Centers, Microscopes, Interactive Drawing Tablets and other state-of-the-art STEM supplies.

By providing a STREAM curriculum to members, BGCO is bridging the STEM gap by ensuring youth have the skills and knowledge necessary to compete and be successful in the current marketplace.

“We are grateful for community supporters like Las Patronas who share the same passion for enriching the lives of youth and preparing them for future success” said Jodi Diamond, CEO. “The Club is providing youth with STEM experience, tech-savviness and 21st-century skills to prepare them for STEM careers!”
