On Saturday, September 17th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) held their annual Day for Kids event in conjunction with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Great Futures Campaign. Day for Kids celebrated the life changing work taking place at BGCO each day by encouraging adults to spend meaningful time with young people and engage in fun activities. This year’s Day for Kids was celebrated with over 300 parent and youth participants, 30 volunteers, and 23 community partners.

The event featured: Relay Races, Robot Launch, Radio Control Car Races, Bounce Houses, Tic –Tac-Toe, Zumba Dance, Face painting, Cupcake Decorating, Virtual Reality, Fire Truck Tours, OPD SWAT Tours and a Basketball Tournament.

The following organizational partners were present: U.S. Marines, U.S. Navy, STEAM Maker Robot Launch, Radio Control Car Races, Ohana Cupcake, Sally Ride Science, SIO Games, Joe’s Crab Shack, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dell Computers Military Program, Zumba Fitness, DJ Tony Kings, Kona Ice, Oceanside Police Department and SWAT Team, Oceanside Fire Department, North County Health Services Dental Bus, Buena Vista Audubon, Education Begins at the Home, Oceanside Green Team, La Fuente Springs Charter School, and Oceanside Library Book Mobile.
