Afterschool Program – Elementary and Teen Program Specialists

Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside seeking dynamic, exciting, passionate, and experienced youth leaders to work with 5-14 year old student members in our after school programs. Our Program Specialists work directly with an assigned group of approximately 20 Elementary or Middle School students in an afterschool setting.

The Program Specialist assists in planning and preparation of the creative and fun learning environment, establishment of interest centers, and preparation of needed material and supplies. Implementation and administration of enrichment/academic programs is critical. Advanced Math and English skills (K — 8) necessary.

The Program Specialist position is a 175/180 day position, based upon the school district calendar year. In addition, this position is based on job performance as well as the number of youth registered weekly. Must have reliable transportation to and from site.

Afterschool Program – Site Director and Assistant Site Director

Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside seeking experienced, PASSIONATE, EXCITED, EXUBERANT, youth development leader to work with student members in our Afterschool Program.

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Boys & Girls Club Site Director will be responsible for maintaining the coordination, implementation and administration of all enrichment/academic programs for youth ages 5 to 18 – including program development and management, carrying forth prudent fiscal management, participation in staff development, and offsite collaborations.

S/he will provide a safe, nurturing, well-supervised after school enrichment program; be the liaison with staff, parents, collaborators, school management, donors and visitors to display the site and the program positively. This position is responsible for planning and preparation of the creative, fun learning environment, establishment of interest centers, and preparation of needed materials and supplies. This position will be responsible for local community outreach to youth and families. In addition, the Director is responsible for the collection of program data, providing reports for contract and grant compliance and assisting with administrative support and increasing membership base.

School Bus Driver

The Boys & Girls Club s of Oceanside seeks a School Bus Driver to operate a certified school bus or school pupil activity bus to transport our youth safely and efficiently to/from assigned locations utilizing a pre-designated route. This position is offered five days per week, Monday through Friday, with approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Candidates are required to meet the following to be considered:

The ideal candidate will have a Class B, California Driver’s License, and,
• 3 years driving experience (including personal or professional)
• Possess a valid California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) OR CDL (Class B) license with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, and air brake certification.
• Possess a valid and unrestricted School Bus Certificate
• Possess Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DL-51) and Medical Examiner’s Card (DL-51A)
• Possess First Aid and CPR Certification, or ability to provide within 30 days of hire
• Be at least 21 years of age
• No conviction of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within 15 years
• No more than 2 moving violations within the past 36 months
• No more than 2 accidents (verified by corresponding violation or points associated with accident) within the past 36 months
• Ability to complete a FTA/DOT mandated physical examination or an approved state-specific physical for non-DOT driving position
• Willing to complete a pre-employment background check through LiveScan and LexisNexis
• Willingness to comply with FTA/DOT substance abuse regulations and testing requirements outlined in CFR 665 and CFR part 40
• Willing to work a part-time schedule
• Possess a safe driving record based on Department of Motor Vehicles by providing/submitting to BGCO a copy of Driver’s H6 PRINTOUT

Co-Ed Soccer & Girls Basketball Coaches

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside seeks Head Coaches for our Co-Ed Soccer Team(s) and Girls Basketball Team(s) who will be responsible for all aspects of directing the team’s practices and play in games and may supervise the teams volunteer or assistant coaches. Teams will be organized with student athletes at all levels of experience in organized sports. The Head Coach is responsible for scheduling try-outs, lesson plans, practices, adhering to a game and practice schedule throughout the season, and acting as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor.

Games will be played weekly, generally between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, in one of the School District’s gymnasiums or fields and Coaches will be responsible to hold at least two practices weekly during the scheduled season.

Coaches must have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for the student athletes they instruct. A Coach’s ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, will be required in giving our student athletes the stability and nurturing atmosphere they need to succeed. While we all compete, skill development and teamwork are critical to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside philosophy.
