R.O.A.D.’s Mission

To enhance the quality of life for persons with developmental disabilities by creating options which foster individual growth in all areas of their lives.

While BGCO is most well-known for providing services to the community’s youth, we also have a unique and groundbreaking program, Real Options for Adults with Disabilities (ROAD’s).

Established in 2012, ROAD’s was developed to fill a pressing need for meaningful daytime enrichment activities for developmentally disabled adults in North County San Diego.

In partnership with the San Diego Regional Center, this Community Based Day program for adults with disabilities focuses on skills and activities that lead to increased independence in the home, at school, on the job, and in the community. We work with each member to develop an individual plan to accomplish self sufficiency and independence.

All efforts are made to accommodate individual’s physical, personal care, communication and behavior support needs.

BGCO works with each client and their parents/guardians to develop a plan that will accomplish their unique goals and provide a rewarding experience through this partnership. The ROAD’s program provides support to the participants to master practical community and social skills including self advocacy, development of values and problem solving skills.
